Building the Future of Tech
Enter the world of hacksingapore, a nationwide hackathon that brings together a community to tackle problems through emerging technologies — Blockchain, No-Code & Gaming. This is your chance to develop skills, explore new technologies, and test new innovative ideas to propel Singapore’s tech ecosystem forward.
This January, we invite change-makers all over the country to join us from Wednesday, 5 January to Sunday, 3 April 2022 for a hybrid hackathon catered to technical & non-technical talents. Throughout the hackathon, hackers will have access to mentorship and workshops from the IMDA Team, community contributors, and the broader ecosystem.
Themes
The Era of Blockchain & Trust
Blockchain has proven to spur innovations that address some of society’s pressing crises. We welcome hackers and teams with working knowledge or interest in blockchain, to work on creative and innovative ways of applying the technology to tackle real-world challenges.
The Rise of No-code/Low-code
Businesses no longer need traditional programming experts to build apps or tools. This track allows for participants without technical background an opportunity to showcase their talent and potential through the utilisation of no-code/low-code (eg. AI/ML, Data, API, etc.) applications.
The Future of Gaming
As game developers strive to meet the skyrocketing demand for new gaming platforms and deeper levels of interaction, we challenge you to build a video game or gaming tool that transforms the gaming industry. Artists, coders, and technologists are encouraged to combine their strengths to work collaboratively on a project.
Hackathon Pillars
Choose from one (1) of the three (3) tracks and work on challenges that are focused on a particular emerging technology.

The Era of Blockchain & Trust
Think different. Currently, the Ethereum main network is the canonical blockchain for the TradeTrust framework. The challenge is to submit a project with reference from TradeTrust GitHub, using Ethereum scaling solutions such as layer 2s and rollups, or even alternative chains which needs to comply with the mandatory properties of these guidelines.

The Rise of No-code/Low-code
Think back to the times you were working on a project and thought of an alternative solution around it. Build any no-code/low-code solution for the magic you always wished to witness, even for organisations in the social services sector.

The Future of Gaming
We’re entering a new era of the internet: Web 3.0 (or Web3). The challenge statement here is to create games or gaming features that will involve NFTs, play-to-earn (P2E) models, and decentralization to onboard users into a cryptographic world.
Here, you can develop an innovative solution for the future of gaming however way you envision it to be. We challenge you to build a video game or gaming tool that transforms the current gaming industry.

Blockchain
Video explanation of what a blockchain is in basic terms using simple examples and analogies.
Ethereum is a technology that is home to digital money, global payments, and applications.
TradeTrust is developed to address the current paper-based cross border trade processes.
No-code/Low-code
To understand that low-code development is the logical evolution (and not revolution) of technology. There was machine code. Then there was assembler, C/C++, Java and more.
Gaming
Learn about Web 3.0 and how it differs from the past versions of the internet.
A Non-Fungible Token, also known as an NFT, is a type of digital token or asset. A common analogy is to think of these as digital trading cards or digital paintings.
Web2 refers to the version of the internet most of us know today, while Web3 refers to decentralized apps that run on the blockchain.
